Privacy Policy

Introduction
Welcome to FanID — a platform built to protect your privacy while delivering the best in secure, fair, and transparent event ticketing. This Privacy Policy outlines how we protect your data (or more accurately, how we avoid collecting it).
Our Privacy-First Philosophy
FanID uses zero-knowledge identity (zkID) technology to verify real users without collecting any personal information. This means:
- You can buy tickets anonymously.
- Organizers receive verification without accessing your identity.
- We never store or sell personal data—because we don’t collect it.
Information We Collect
We keep data collection to the bare minimum, including:
- Name: For matching ticket record.
- Email Address: For matching ticket record.
- Biometric data: For verifying your identity at the time of the event.
What We Never Collect
- Government IDs
- Behavioral or browsing data
- Stored zkID identity proofs
How We Use Your Information
We use what little we collect only to:
- Verify real users via zkID
- Issue and manage secure, non-transferable tickets
- Enable blockchain-based transactions
- Send opt-in event updates
Stopping Scalping & Fraud
With cryptographic proof and non-transferable ticketing, we stop scalpers, bots, and black-market sales—solving a $15B problem and ensuring fans always get a fair chance.
Security
FanID is secure by design. By limiting data collection and applying best practices in encryption and blockchain integrity, we reduce exposure and improve resilience.
Biometric Data
When you opt to use facial recognition for entry, FanID does not store your raw photographic image. Instead, the initial scan is immediately converted into an encrypted mathematical representation, known as a biometric template or hash. The original image is then permanently deleted. This encrypted mathematical representation cannot be reverse-engineered into a photograph and is used exclusively to verify your identity at the time of the event.
Your Rights
Because we don’t store personal information, most conventional rights (like deletion or access) aren’t necessary. You control your wallet, zkID, and tickets—nothing else is stored.
Data Retention
We retain only essential on-chain transaction data (e.g. ticket ownership). Off-chain data is either optional or not collected at all.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We’ll notify you of significant changes by updating this page and revising the "Last updated" date at the top. We encourage you to check this policy periodically.
